Privacy Policy — DealTracker

Overview

DealTracker is a Chrome extension and web application designed to help real estate agents calculate commission splits and track deals. This privacy policy explains how we handle your information.

      Your data never leaves your device. DealTracker does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to external servers. Everything stays in your browser.
    

Data Collection

DealTracker does not collect any of the following:

Personal identification information (name, email, phone number)
Location data or IP addresses
Browsing history or website usage
Financial information or transaction records
Any form of analytics or telemetry

The only data stored is what you manually enter into the app — deal details, commission templates, and transaction records. This data is stored exclusively on your device using the browser's IndexedDB.

You control your data. Use the built-in "Backup Data" feature on the Dashboard to export a JSON file, and "Restore Backup" to import it — on any device.

Chrome Extension Permissions

DealTracker requests the following Chrome permissions, each for a specific purpose:

Permission	Purpose
`storage`	Save your templates, deals, and preferences locally
`unlimitedStorage`	Allow larger datasets (attachments, backups) without quota errors
`contextMenus`	Add "Capture to DealTracker" to the right-click menu on supported real estate sites
`sidePanel`	Open DealTracker in Chrome's side panel for convenient access

Third-Party Services

DealTracker does not integrate with or send data to any third-party services, analytics platforms, advertising networks, or external APIs. The application functions completely offline after installation.

Data Security

Since all data is stored locally on your device, security is primarily managed by your browser's built-in sandboxing and storage isolation. We recommend:

Regularly exporting backups using the Dashboard's "Backup Data" feature
Keeping your browser and operating system up to date
Not sharing your device with untrusted users if you have sensitive deal data

Children's Privacy

DealTracker is designed for real estate professionals. It is not intended for use by children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect any information from children.
